1. Have you read any independent or undersung books lately?
My favorite book last year was “The Art of Disappearing” by Ivy Pochoda. I feel like no one else in the universe has read it and I adored it.
2. What’s on repeat on your MP3 player?
3. If you won a million dollars, what would you do first?
Hire a maid! Seriously. I hate housecleaning and I’m a horrible slob.

4. Pancakes or waffles?
Pancakes. (With real maple syprup, not the maple flavored stuff.) My fav is a muesli pancake from a local restaurant. Really, though, I’d prefer Eggs Benedict to either pancakes or waffles.
5. What’s your favorite place to get books? Second favorite?
My two online go-tos are alibris.com (fantastic selection, great marketplace sellers, cheap prices) and awesomebooks.com (unbelievably wonderful resource for books from the UK). If I want to go to a brick-and-mortar shop, Half Price Books is the place.
6. Share one random fact about yourself we don’t know.
I’m left-handed.
7. What's your favorite adult beverage?
A gimlet or a well-made dirty martini, made with Svedka vodka. I also love Barefoot wines, especially their Riesling and Shiraz.
8. How many times have you moved?
I’ve lived in 7 states - Ohio (7 cities, 13 residences), Virginia (2 cities), Massachusetts (2 cities), and Florida, California, North Carolina and Utah (1 city each). So, that’s 21, I think. But at least two of those places I moved from and back to a couple times, so the number of moves is an even higher number. Sheesh. :)

9. Guilty pleasure TV show you watch?
Firefly. I own it on DVD, and some weekends I’ll play all the discs over and over and over and…
10. What’s your favorite odd food combination?
I do weird things with sandwiches. Like a fried egg and peanut butter combo. And BLTs with peanut butter. And toasted cheese sandwiches with gouda and strawberry jam.
11. What’s the first book you remember reading?
I taught myself to read when I was three years old, so I really don't remember the first book I ever read. The first book I remember having a profound emotional impact on me was "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis.
